    Broken Shackles was the second episode of Season 48 of Doctor Who. It was written & directed by Nicholas Briggs and featured David Suchet as the Thirteenth Doctor, Juliet Landau as Zenla, Dougray Scott as Chris Parsons and introduced Emer Kenny as Gemma Legato.

     Synopsis 

    Gemma Legato, a human colonist from the 31st Century, lives on the planet Rosadyne, where the native race, the Aarchnaughts, are enslaved by the humans. All her life, Gemma has been fighting for the Aarchnaughts’ freedom and now, as three strange travellers drop out of the sky, her fight maybe finally worth something.
