The Societal Step was the seventh story of Season 40. It was written by Toby Whithouse, directed by Keith Boak and featured Paul McGann as the Doctor and Daphne Ashbrook as Grace Holloway.

     Synopsis

The Doctor and Grace land on a planet of Female dominance where the male gender are being oppressed and the female reign supreme.

Grace is appalled by the prejudice in their society but the Doctor refuses to do anything as that will be interfering in a societal step that happens in every culture.

Will the Doctor change his mind when he finds horrors that are far worst than a societal step?
