The Aarchnaughts were the indigenous race to the planet Rosdayne which was later colonised by Humanity, and their resistance resulted in mass enslavement by the Humans. A revolt was lead by Gemma Legato in the 31st Century, freeing them.

History of the Aarchnaughts
One lone Aarchnaught, managed to find themselves on Earth in the early 21st Century, and was taken as a prisoner in the Tower of London by Nigel Rochester. (TV: Jubilee)
In the 30th Century, Rosadyne was colonised by humans. After a brief war with the humans, they enslaved the Aarchnaughts. This lasted nearly 100 years before they were freed with the help of Gemma Legato. (TV: Broken Shackles)
