The Aarchnaughts were the indigenous race to the planet Rosdayne which was later colonised by Humanity, and their resistance resulted in mass enslavement by the Humans. A revolt was lead by Gemma Legato in the 31st Century, freeing them.

History of the Aarchnaughts
In the 31st Century, Rosadyne was colonised by humans. Prime Designate Samuels decided that all Aarchnaughts would serve the human colonists and proceeded to enslave the entire race.
