The Chelonians were a race of large, bulky, turtle-like humanoids.
Characteristics
Biology
Chelonians were turtle-like in physique. Though only coming up to a human's waist, they were far wider and more heavily built. They had four limbs, each with opposable digits and blunt claws. They had a sharp beak and a hard cranial plate in front of their brains. (DW: The Highest Science)
History
27th Century
In 2680 a Chelonian assault force was transported to Hogsumm by the Fortean Flicker. While there they attacked the Eight Twelves but were stopped when the Eighth Doctor said that he would deal with them. The Chelonians later attempted to use a lethal zarathion gas against the Eight Twelves but were stopped when the Eighth Doctor used a control globe which froze them in slow time. In 558ED The Chelonians were part of the Collective, an army of aliens that invaded Taoter III. (ELYM: Hostile Assault, To the Death)
