    Chris Clough (born 9 March 1951) was the most prolific director of Season 23-29 of Doctor Who, helming numerous stories in that time period. He also directed several episodes of the spin-off series Leftover.

    Biography

    Prior to Doctor Who

    Clough was only Thirty-Five when he began directing for Doctor Who and his career was in many ways just starting. He had directed a bit of Brookside in the early 1980s and a number of Eastenders episodes around the program's very first Christmas.

    Work on Doctor Who

    Clough went directly from Eastenders into what would be Colin Baker's swan song as the Sixth Doctor. He directed episodes 9-14 of The Trial of a Time Lord. He was then brought back to direct several Seventh Doctor stories and went on to do two Richard Griffiths stories.

    Clough voiced Fifi in The Happiness Patrol and played a Police Constable in Silver Nemesis, but went uncredited.

    After Doctor Who

    Clough continued to direct episodes of TV shows including Fair City, Emerdale, The Bill, Casualty, BallykissAngel and Skins, he also served as a producer on The Bill and Skins, as well as The Ghost Squad, Above Suspicion, Sirens, Strike Back, Dates, The Missing, Stan Lee's Lucky Man, Rellik, Killed by My Dedt, Dark Heart and World on Fire.

    Clough also worked as an Assistant Director on episodes of Strike Back, The Missing and Stan Lee's Lucky Man.
