Cold Front was a Doctor Who television spin-off anthology series. It was produced by BBC Wales, BBC Worldwide and CBS Television Studios, with the majority of the production taking place in the United States, handled by CBS.
The series was created and directed by Chris Carter, under the advisement of franchise executive, Ira Steven Behr.
Origins
Due to Doctor Who being taken off of the air between Doctor Who: Endgame and Doctor Who: Genesis, Ira Steven Behr had decided to make a Doctor Who type show to fill in the void that was left due to it's hiatus, Behr had commissioned Chris Carter to come up with a idea for the show.
