I Don't Want Tomorrow was a sketch performed during the interval act of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, which featured Samantha Bond as the Doctor and Montserrat Lombard as Erin Stevenson.

Synopsis

The Doctor and Erin invade the stage of Eurovision 2015, trying to save the planet from the Zygons!

Background Information

Development

The idea for the skit was first suggested during the production of Season 49's The Food of Love by Samantha Bond.
After the broadcast of The Food of Love, Ira Steven Behr met with Edgar Bohm, the Executive Producer of Eurovision 2015, about included Doctor Who in it somehow. Behr suggested a short live skit, featuring the Doctor and Erin on stage interacting with the hosts.
The skit was formerly given the green light in January 2015.
Behr commissioned Simon Guerrier, the writer of The Food of Love, to write the 3-minute skit.

Production

Arrangements were made by Behr and Bohm to secure Samantha Bond and Montserrat Lombard to appear live on stage on 23 May.
They flew to Vienna on Friday 22 May and flew back to the UK on Sunday 24.
After appearing on stage with hosts Alice Tumler and Conchita Wurst, Bond and Lombard joined the UK delegation in the green room along with performers Electro Velvet. While they stayed in costume, they did not remain in character, appearing as themselves.
The skit was broadcast live on Saturday 23 May 2015.

Reaction

The skit received a positive reaction amongst the Doctor Who fan community as many felt it raised the profile of the show.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2015 received viewing figures of 6.64m in the UK and 197m worldwide.
