    Jim Mortimore is a writer who wrote the Season 29 story Lucifer Rising with Andy Lane and the Season 31 story Blood Heat.


    Biography

    Prior to Doctor Who 

    Jim Mortimore was born in 1962. He grew up watching the Jon Pertwee era of Doctor Who and wrote short Horror stories in his school notebooks.

    Mortimore would make audio recordings of various Doctor Who episodes and send them to John Peel who was in charge of a Doctor Who fanzine at the time.

    In 1984 Mortimore became a writer for Audio Visuals, a fan made Doctor Who Audio series with Nicholas Briggs as the Doctor, Mortimore wrote four stories for the series. It was through the series that Mortimore became associated with Andy Lane.

    Work on Doctor Who

    In 1991 Mortimore and Lane co-wrote the Season 29 story Lucifer Rising. Mortimore later wrote the Season 31 story Blood Heat.

    After Doctor Who

    In 2015 Mortimore wrote a Director's Cut novel called Blood Heat which was based on the Doctor Who story he had written for Season 31, but removed all Doctor Who elements and replaced them with new characters and concepts.
