Sam Tollinger was the father of Katie Tollinger.
Biography
He came to London in November 1967 in order to see the Major Felton and to take something from the Tower of London. He worked with the Ice Warrior Hhessh to obtain some artefacts, including the helmet of the Ice Lord Sezhyr.
He along with Anna Carlton met up with the Seventh Doctor and Ace, the later of whom discovered Hhesh, the two decided to join him, Hhesh and Major Felton on the mission. After learning that Anna was pregnent, he and the others were taken aboard the Ice Warrior ship. He and the Doctor then left with the newborn baby, but later returned to free Anna who had been taken over by Sezhyr. (DW: Ice Time)
23 years later, Sam tasked a now grown up Katie with stealing back various items that been seized by UNIT before becoming declassified and sold on the black market. While attempting to help Katie steal back a jewelled egg shaped weapon known as the Virunum from a facility, they soon discovered that a Neo-Nazi group known as the Fourth Reich, led by Corporal Salter, were planning to go back in time and use the Virunum to erase key figures on the allies' side during World War II. Sam later took a brief trip in the TARDIS to 1943, where he witnessed Corporal Salter's death. (DW: Crime of the Century)
