Series 5 of Doctor Who: Adventures was a co-production between CBS Eye Animation Productions and BBC Studios, originally airing on CBBC in the United Kingdom, and soon after, airing on Nickelodeon in the United States. It starred Samantha Bond, Montserrat Lombard and William Moseley.
Overview
The Final Series
Series 5 of Doctor Who: Adventures was originally intended as two series of 10 episodes each to be made as part of one production cycle. However, late on in the process, it was decided to air all 20 together as one series. Although not ever said to be the show’s final series, there was not another commissioned while making this one, as usual, and no announcement ever came that there would be another. Therefore, Phil Ford decided to treat the finale like a proper ending for the show, in case it ever returned. Which turned out to be the case with Paramount and BBC bosses deciding to stop the show after it being produced for 60 episodes in total.
