* A sixth movie was in the works following the season prior to [[Samantha Bond]] announcing her departure as well as keeping with the continuity first placed with the [[Doctor Who (2003)|first movie]] in 2003 from the [[Tenth Doctor]] onwards although it had started to be passed around by [[Paramount Pictures|Paramount]] under the title 'Doctor Who VI' since the release of the [[Doctor Who: Genesis|fifth movie]]. However, it had undergone development hell by the time [[Season 50 (Doctor Who)|Season 50]] was in production, and with the sudden exit of Bond, it was eventually decided by [[CBS Television Studios|CBS]] to showrunner [[Ronald D. Moore]] for the Doctor to regenerate in the TV series. The planned sixth movie was put on the back burner for a later date.
