The Convalesce or "Connie" was a manifestation of the Doctor, formed from the trinity of Will Adams, Phaedra and the consciousness of the Thirteenth Doctor.
They were a temporary vessel in which the Doctor's consciousness was held, in an effort to resurrect the Time Lord.
Biography
Creation
"Connie" was created when Will Adams and Phaedra were merged with each other along with the consciousness of the Thirteenth Doctor taken from within the Matrix. (PAN: Survivors)
"Connie" was taken for some tests and it was soon discovered that they only had twelve hours to live due to the DNA struggling to interface with the DNA of Will and the Vardans that the Eleventh Doctor ascended with. (PAN: Doctor)
Battling the Vex
"Connie" took part in the final battle against the Vex. "Connie "helped the Rogue defuse the Ascension bomb planted on Earth. "Connie" was later saved by Gordra who sacrificed himself to sve them. The battle ended when "Connie" contacted Ostmuz and the two agreed to negotiate an end to the war which they did inside the Master's abandoned clinic. They then returned to their fleets and together announced that both fleets should join forces to find a new home and that they will be allowed to mix together. (PAN: Doctor)
Death
After making their goodbyes, "Connie" left in a shuttle and landed in a field on Earth. "Connie" began to burn up inside and soon died, regenerating into the Fourteenth Doctor. (PAN: Doctor; MOV: Doctor Who: Genesis)

Behind the Scenes
"Connie" was played by both David Tennant and Emma Caulfield. The effect for the character was achieved by filming their scenes twice, once for David Tennant and then again for Emma Caulfield. Both performances were merged together using CGI.
