    Mal Young (born 26 January 1957) is a British television producer, screenwriter and executive producer. In 2020, he was appointed as the 4th Executive of the Doctor Who Franchise. He became prolific during the negotiations of the "Paramount Deal" in 1997 and, in his position, as Head of Drama at BBC Television between 1997 and 2000, then Controller of Continuing Drama Series until 2004, he fulfilled a similar position to his eventual role as Franchise Executive, in overseeing the franchise above executive producer, David Renwick.
