    Nicholas Mallett (6 May 1945-30 January 1997) directed the first four episodes of the Doctor Who television story The Trial of a Time Lord before going on to direct Paradise TowersThe Curse of Fenric, Ice Time, Lungbarrow and The Path Not Taken.

    Biography

    Prior to Doctor Who

    Nicholas Mallett began his career as a Production Assistant on the TV shows Openheimer and Shackleton.

    He later directed episodes of Late Starter, Black Silk, Crossroads and Children's Ward.

    Work on Doctor Who

    Mallett's first Doctor Who credit was as Director on the first four episodes of The Trial of a Time Lord. He then went on to direct several more episodes including Paradise Towers, The Curse of Fenric, Ice Time and The Path Not Taken.

    After Doctor Who

    Mallettt went on to direct episodes of Wales Playhouse, Ruby, The Bill and The High Road. He also directed the short documentary You'll Soon get the Hang of it: The Technique of One to One Training.

    Personal Life

    Mallett passed away on the 30th January 1997.
