    The Façade was the fourth episode of Season 46 of Doctor Who. It was written by Jacqueline Rayner & Nicholas Briggs, directed by Euros Lyn and featured Paterson Joseph as the Twelfth Doctor and Sophie Okonedo as Lizzie Clarke.

    Synopsis 

    The Doctor and Lizzie land in 1959, Las Vegas for a holiday however when a strange power cut occurs, the Doctor and Lizzie’s perception device stops working, leaving the Doctor and Lizzie to fend for themselves in a racist and bigoted 1950s American society.

    • This episode received a 7-Day Viewing Figure from BARB of 8.93m viewers. It ranked at 5th over the week.

    Story Notes

    • This is the only story in the Paterson Joseph era where the Twelfth Doctor has facial hair as it begins to grow during his and Lizzie's time in captivity. By the next story, "Delayed Indefinitely" the Doctor has shaved it.

    Continuity

    • At one point half of the Doctor's left ear is partially bitten off, by Mr Peabody. His ear would remain in this state until his regeneration in Doctor Who: Vengeance.
