The Horrors of War was the fourth story of Season 40 of Doctor Who. It was written by Robert Shearman, directed by Graeme Harper and featured Colin Baker as the Doctor and Bonnie Langford as Melanie Bush.
This story acted as the long-anticipated regeneration story for the Sixth Doctor.
Synopsis
The Sixth Doctor and Mel arrive Normandy, 1944, and before they know it, they find themselves stranded, slap-bang in the middle of the D-Day landings. The two travellers face no other choice to but to join the allied effort, but a darker force is lurking over them, someone the Doctor hasn’t seen since his early days on Gallifrey.
