The Screams of Terror was the first serial of Season 54 of Doctor Who. It was written by Adrian Hodges, directed by Lee Haven Jones and featured Ace Bhatti as the Sixteenth Doctor and Jayd Johnson as Chrissie Finch.
Synopsis
Straight out of regeneration, the Doctor crash lands just before the Battle of Dunsinane, whereby everything seems to be going as history planned - nearly.

- Part One received a 7-Day Viewing Figure from BARB of 7.12 million viewers. It ranked at 4th over the week, which changed to 4th when the 28-Day Figures came out, putting the episode at 7.85 million viewers.
- Part Two received a 7-Day Viewing Figure from BARB of 6.79 million viewers. It ranked at 9th over the week, which changed to 5th when the 28-Day Figures came out, putting the episode at 7.43 million viewers.
Story Notes
- This is the first story for Ace Bhatti as the Sixteenth Doctor, and the first story for Jayd Johnson as Chrissie Finch.
- This is the second story to have a Shakespeare play as a plot point, the first being Season 47's The Shakespeare Code.
- Chrissie is the first companion to originate from a historical period since Sammy Thompson.
- This is the first, and so far only story in the franchise's history to feature the return of a historical figure.
