Josephine Grant (later Jones) was a companion of The Third Doctor and currently a member of Leftover.

Jo was a civilian employee of UNIT, whom the Brigadier assigned to The Doctor after the departure of Liz Shaw. Initially a laboratory assistant to him, she later becomes a traveling companion to him during one of his missions for the Time Lords, and after his exile on earth was entirely lifted.

Although she mostly knew the Doctor in his third incarnation she also had significant adventures with the Second, Eighth, Ninth And Tenth Doctors, and briefly saw the First Doctor on the TARDIS scanner.

She left UNIT, and therefore the Doctor to marry Professor Clifford Jones, who at the time had received United Nations fundings for a variety of progressive scientific studies.

The two eventually settled down in Newcastle where Jo would go on to become a member of Leftover, a team consisting of former traveling companions of the Doctor who investigated Aliens and other strange ocourances in Newcastle and eventually Los Angeles.
